3 Things To Do With Cremains

Blog

When you have lost a loved one, you might have decided to have them cremated. If you did have them cremated, you might be wondering what can do with the cremains. There are a number of things that you can do with the ashes of your loved one.

Jewelry

One thing that you can do is to have jewelry created with the cremains of your loved one. There are many different kinds of jewelry that you can choose from. For example, there are companies that can use the ashes to create diamonds or other gemstones. You can then make jewelry from those stones, if that's what you want. The process doesn't take all the ashes, so you can have several stones made up to give to a number of family members. You could also have glass pendants made with the ashes, where there are swirls of the ashes in hand-blown pendants. The glass would be very strong and would stand up to normal wear and tear, so you could even wear the piece of jewelry every day if you wanted to.

Make a Record

If your loved one loved music, you can actually turn into a record. All you need to do is to provide the company that does this service either a recording of your loved one, or their favorite music (or some song that reminds you of your dead loved one), and the ashes. The company that provides this service will then take those ashes and they will press them into a record for you. Not only will you have this record with your loved one's ashes, it will actually be playable.

The Final Frontier

A third option is to send your loved one's ashes into space. You can work with a company that arranges to have ashes shot into orbit. Other companies will actually aim the containers carrying your loved one's ashes at the sun or other destinations in space. If your loved one was a huge space fan or loved science fiction, this can be a really wonderful way to remember them. You don't even have to have all their ashes sent into space, you can have just a small amount sent so that other family members can have some, if they want.

If you have a loved one who chose cremation services instead of burial services, you probably need to know what you can do with the ashes afterward. You have all kinds of choices out there.

Decorating a Funeral Venue

My beloved paternal grandmother passed away almost 4 years ago. Before her death, this special woman suffered many months due to a fatal lung disease. After her passing, her large extended family wanted to celebrate her unique life with an elaborate funeral service. They chose to work with the funeral home staff to decorate the funeral venue with things she loved. Because she enjoyed fishing, a large floral arrangement in the shape of a fish was purchased. Also, the family bought a floral cross to illustrate her devotion to her faith. On this blog, you will discover how to work with a funeral home staff on decorations at the funeral service venue.
